Ferry Friends is a community project for the older members of Creetown and the parish of Kirkmabreck. It is run by Creetown Initiative and offers activities that aim to improve wellbeing and reduce loneliness and isolation among senior citizens.
Ferry Friends aims to promote social interaction through providing a range of activities that the people of the Kirkmabreck Parish area will themselves decide. The project will also be reaching out to people in their own homes who perhaps don’t find it so easy to get out and about. Events in the past have included coffee mornings, trips to the Newton Stewart Cinema, chair yoga, quiz afternoons, Citizen’s Advice coffee mornings, plant pot painting, afternoon tea dances and others.
